Summary
The Maintenance Technician will ensure the continuous operation of the facility through essential repairs and equipment improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and Repair: Oversee and repair all mechanical equipment in the facility.
- Inspect and Overhaul: Conduct inspections, repairs, and overhauls on mechanical drives, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems.
- Machine Shop Duties: Perform basic machine shop tasks such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
- Equipment Installation and Modification: Handle installation, maintenance, and modifications on equipment and control systems.
- Troubleshooting: Use volt-ohm-amp meters for troubleshooting and repairing motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives, and sub-electrical panels.
- On-Call Duties: Be available for rotating on-call duty during weekends to address emergencies.
- Proficient in using tools, machines, and testing instruments for repairing and overhauling plant equipment.
- Knowledgeable in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum systems, and components.
- Understanding of safety precautions and inspection techniques in a food-manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical sketches, manuals, and schematics.
- Creative problem-solving skills and initiative for continuous improvement.
- Willingness to further develop skills through education and training.
- Basic understanding of electrical maintenance with PLC and repair.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- High school diploma required.
- 1-2 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in a steel processing environment.
The position is located in a production area with moderate noise levels. The production area is not climate controlled.
