Job Description

KE Camps, a leading provider of summer camps for country clubs nationwide, seeks an experienced Aquatic Program Specialist to oversee swimming activities at our esteemed facilities.

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the health and well-being of campers while in or around the pool at all times, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Supervise and guard all swimming activities, enforcing policies, guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Assist Camp Director/Staff with pool-related responsibilities, including camper swim assessments.
  • Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
  • Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions and provide rescues as needed.
  • Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration if necessary.
  • Evaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety, initiating emergency action plans as required.
  • Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water, maintaining a clean environment to ensure safety and usability.
Requirements:
  • Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent.
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR (advanced certification may be required based on camp location and site of delivery).
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Prior experience in Lifeguarding and/or Swim related instruction is preferred.

This lifeguard position has a variable schedule of 10-15 hours per week, with opportunities to pair with a more consistent role. Our camp is located at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, NY, offering a unique opportunity to work in a scenic and picturesque setting.
