Job Summary
Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Supervisor in the Mountain Island Emergency Department. This role is responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting with daily operations, including coordination of patient care, allocation of resources, and communication with patients, physicians, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and service administration
- Assist with the selection, supervision, and development of nursing personnel
- Collaborate with the manager to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies
- Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to gain insight into patient care, employee, and physician satisfaction
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers and assist in evaluating progress towards goal attainment
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN licensure in the appropriate state
- Minimum two years of nursing experience, with previous management experience preferred
- BSN required, with RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date
- Appropriate professional certification required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
