About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a Long-Term Care Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, voice, cognitive, swallowing, and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' functional needs and adjust care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment programs for patients with speech, language, or swallowing difficulties.
  • Conduct therapy sessions within defined standards of care and uphold professional and ethical standards.
  • Teach patients how to improve their voices, maintain fluency, and develop and strengthen the muscles used for swallowing.
  • Help individuals improve their vocabulary and sentence structure used in oral and written language.
  • Determine appropriate diets for patients and direct the assistance of support staff to achieve patient goals.
  • Communicate effectively with other professionals and support staff regarding speech-language pathology services.
  • Educate patients and their families on how to cope with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatment goals, and daily treatment plans on a timely basis.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops.
  • Provide direction and leadership to staff and promote speech-language therapy in the community.
  • Maintain accurate working knowledge of various funding sources and requirements to ensure reimbursement of services.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs.
  • Current state license and/or certification to provide speech-language pathology services in good standing.
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a personal and professional manner.
  • Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of patients.
Working Conditions

The Speech-Language Pathologist will work in a healthcare environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting, as well as the use of fine dexterity and protective equipment. The Speech-Language Pathologist must be able to work in a moderately loud environment and be able to transport patients safely.
