Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Driver to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a Heavy Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy trucks, including dump trucks, street maintenance vehicles, tractors, and lowboy trailers. You will also perform maintenance work on City streets, including working with asphalt and patching potholes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy trucks, including dump trucks, street maintenance vehicles, tractors, and lowboy trailers.
  • Perform maintenance work on City streets, including working with asphalt and patching potholes.
  • Utilize a variety of heavy equipment, machinery, and tools.
  • Maintain proper working order of vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
  • Clean streets with a street sweeper; operate a truck loader, ditches material, and perform dump truck maintenance duties.
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year of truck driving experience.
  • Valid Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) class A or B and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
Work Environment

This position will require the employee to work in a variety of environments, including office or similar indoor environments, outdoor environments, street environments (near moving traffic), construction sites, confined spaces, vehicles, and warehouse environments.
