Overview:


The Village of Antioch is a vibrant community located on the Illinois-Wisconsin border, serving a population of approximately 15,000 residents.

With an annual operational budget of $15 million, the Village adheres to the financial reporting standards set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

The Village of Antioch is in search of a skilled, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual for the role of Financial Analyst.

This professional position is accountable for the precise monthly maintenance and complex analytical functions related to the Village's financial records.

The selected candidate will undertake various responsibilities, including establishing internal controls, assisting with bank reconciliations, and overseeing revenues and expenditures to ensure robust fiscal management.

This role will also involve contributing to the audit preparation, budget formulation, annual reporting, and managing sensitive personnel information. The Financial Analyst will provide support to the Finance Director and other roles within the Finance Department as needed.

The incumbent will be tasked with financial operations and oversight, ensuring compliance with the Village's financial policies, regulations, and standards.

Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret financial data, maintain effective financial systems and accounting practices, and possess significant experience with Microsoft Office applications, along with the capacity to master financial software.

Reports to the Finance Director. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical capabilities, are essential.

Qualifications:


A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration is preferred.

Candidates should have at least four (4) years of experience in a governmental environment performing municipal finance-related tasks.

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position will be considered.
