Job Title: Residential Support Staff

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Staff to join our team at Credo Community Center. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with mental illness, helping them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing self-care training and therapeutic treatments to residents, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Train residents in daily living skills, empowering them to become independent and confident individuals.
  • Converse with residents to reinforce positive behaviors and promote social interaction, fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
  • Assist with meal preparation and eat with residents to act as a role model, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills.
  • Observe and document resident behaviors, helping to facilitate assessment of treatment goals and inform care planning.
  • Participate in the oversight of the maintenance of the community residence, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all residents.
  • Provide for the physical needs of each resident, including adequate food, shelter, and clothing, as well as assisting with medication management and adherence to physicians' instructions.
  • Secure residents' medications and personal belongings, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Monitor medications and report any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Report to the supervisor any pertinent information concerning illnesses, accidents, untoward events, staff difficulties, repair needs, etc.
  • Maintain the house in a clean and orderly fashion, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for residents.
  • Assist with planning and preparing nutritionally sound meals on shift, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills.
  • Oversee the completion of housekeeping tasks and food preparation to ensure all residents' needs are met.
  • Encourage residents to complete daily living skills, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Assist in the delivery of restorative services as designated on the service plan, promoting residents' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Provide transportation for residents to other needed services with the assistance of other staff, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Effectively handle crisis situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Specific to the Night Shift: secure the residence for the night, conduct bed checks as required, and complete all tasks assigned to the shift.
  • Work as a member of a team, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, emphasizing teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Work at other residential sites as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Requirements:

We are seeking an individual with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a passion for providing care and support to individuals with mental illness. Preferred qualifications include experience and/or training in the mental health field, particularly with developmentally delayed, geriatric, and co-occurring disorder clients.

Salary:

$15 - $17 hourly
