About the Role:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Abode Hospice and Home Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the comfort of their own homes. Your expertise will be essential in supporting patients with physical therapy needs, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to patients, following the guidance of physical therapists and physician plans of care.
- Assist patients with active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
- Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage, as directed by physical therapists.
- Instruct patients on the use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
- Monitor patient reactions to treatment and report any changes in condition to physical therapists.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the CAPTE, with current licensure to practice in the state of operation.
- At least 1 year of experience as a PTA, with home health experience preferred.
- Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
