We are seeking a highly skilled Procedure Authorization Specialist to join our team at the Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate authorization of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Authorization and Verification: Monitor the authorizations of upcoming surgical cases, verify patient demographic information and insurance eligibility, and coordinate benefits to ensure accurate processing of claims.
- Surgical Cost Analysis: Accurately complete surgical cost analysis forms, documenting required surgical cost estimation for collection prior to services.
- Benefits Verification: Verify benefits on all surgical procedures to ensure compliance with insurance plans.
- Documentation and Communication: Document authorizations and progress of authorizations in patient charts, and communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and co-workers.
- Training and Education: Participate in providing ongoing training and education of staff on new processes to ensure timely confirmation of surgical cases.
- Quality Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement within the daily workflow process and contribute to reducing complaints in a timely and professional manner.
