Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions

As a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited or no supervision. You will use your advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

You will also be responsible for traveling to customer job sites to repair and maintain equipment, maintaining service vehicles in a clean and professional manner, and assisting in the training of lower-level technicians as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, upselling and demonstrating complex equipment to customers, and assisting with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced diesel mechanic who is able to work independently and as part of a team. If you have a strong mechanical background, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for working with complex equipment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
  • Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
