Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Services Program Consultant III to join our team at the Division of Blind Services. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients, local businesses, and other stakeholders to provide specialized services to blind adults and children. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping individuals achieve their vocational goals and live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy, referral, and resource development services to clients.
  • Conduct outreach activities to increase job training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
  • Participate in job development, placement, and follow-up activities to ensure successful employment outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of employment to help clients achieve their vocational goals.
  • Collaborate with community providers, eye medical facilities, and government agencies to coordinate services and referrals.
  • Provide education, outreach, and guidance on blindness and independent living skills.
  • Assist clients in developing self-advocacy skills and accessing resources to achieve their goals.
  • Conduct follow-up calls with clients and employers to ensure successful employment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of professional experience in social, economic, health, or rehabilitative programs.
  • Master's degree can substitute for one year of experience.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience can substitute for college education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
  • Knowledge of pre-employment transition services.
  • Attainment of a Certification Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) designation or eligibility to become a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
  • Attainment of a Community Work Incentives Counselor (CWIC) designation or eligibility to become a Community Work Incentives Counselor (CWIC).
