Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings and structures to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Issue building permits and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Conduct environmental enforcement inspections, including water quality and grading inspections.
  • Provide public information and education on building codes and regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or attainment of a satisfactory score on a G.E.D test.
  • Two years of experience performing any of the trades or professions directly associated with the structural aspects of building construction or inspection.
  • Valid California Class C Drivers License and ICC (International Code Council) Building Inspector certificate.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects that may weigh more than 15 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tilt-up and multi-story commercial construction.
  • Strong field experience and customer service skills.
