Job Title: Wind Blade Repair Technician III-IV

Wind Composite Services Group is seeking a highly skilled Wind Blade Repair Technician III-IV to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in performing internal and external inspections and repairs of composite fiberglass/carbon wind blades.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of technicians in performing up-tower and down-tower blade repairs.
  • Act as a safety role model and ensure team members adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Lead support technicians in performing LOTO of wind turbines.
  • Coordinate all aspects of job site preparation, including labor and materials.
  • Operate blade access suspended platforms and work cages.
  • Perform skilled-level wind blade damage repairs using blade access platforms and/or ground access.
  • Perform other blade maintenance activities, such as leading edge protection applications and lightning protection system repairs.
  • Lead support technicians in performing weekly inventory and safety incident reporting.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of wind blade repair and/or composite repair experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform all aspects of repair process, including inspecting and documenting critical-to-quality parameters.
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time, at least 8 weeks at a time.
  • Willingness to work across the U.S. on holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field projects.
  • Meet specific weight requirements of Wind Composite Services Group and industry standards.
  • Physical ability to climb a wind tower multiple times per day and work at heights in all weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills to operate Microsoft Windows/Office and Google Suite software applications.
  • Must obtain or possess a OSHA 10 Construction, First Aid/CPR certification prior to start of employment.

  • Understanding of wind blade design, construction, and repairs.
  • Understanding of composite materials, such as fiberglass/carbon fiber, resin systems, and balsa/foam cores.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English and complex technical drawings and procedures.
