Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to join our dynamic team at Foundation Health Partners. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care during critical moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and assist healthcare providers in performing assigned patient procedures within scope of training.
- Receive general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care.
- Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective communication and flow of information throughout the department.
- Order supplies and troubleshoot supply issues as needed.
- Responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies in patient care areas.
- Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas and equipment.
- Transport or assist with transporting monitored and non-monitored patients within the facility.
- Perform specimen collection and patient preparation, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
- Promote continuity of care by recognizing and reporting abnormalities and/or changes in patient's health status and responses to treatment.
- Assist Emerg Tech Educator with orientation and training of staff and students.
- Participate on assigned committees and teams.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Current EMT-1 national certification or higher required.
- Requires the knowledge normally demonstrated with a minimum of One (1) year of relevant work experience.
- BLS certification required.
- FHP sponsored Phlebotomy and Electrocardiography (EKG) required within twelve (12) months of hire/transfer.
- Preceptor certification required within six (6) months of hire/transfer.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, independent practitioners, patients and other contacts.
- Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling infectious agents.

A Joint Commission-accredited facility with 152 licensed beds, Foundation Health Partners is the primary referral center for residents of Alaska's interior with a strong patient-to-nurse ratio and Shared Leadership Infrastructure.
