Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assign work for employees, ensuring efficient and effective shipping operations.
  • Train new hires to meet department and company standards, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and disciplinary actions, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate shipping activities, including packing, labeling, and loading/unloading shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies, maintaining accurate records and preventing losses.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure product integrity, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve shipping-related issues or discrepancies promptly, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and customer service, to meet delivery deadlines and resolve customer inquiries, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communicate shipping updates and issues to management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training in shipping and logistics, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
  • Ability to read English and communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read picklists and orders, and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong math and metrology skills, with ability to perform calculations and measurements accurately.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role, requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk frequently, and lift and/or move objects of 50 pounds or more. Must be able to cover other shifts/overtime as necessary, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
