Job Overview

The Compliance and Risk Manager is responsible for performing day-to-day operation of the Compliance and Risk Program activities. This includes managing internal departments and external agencies, developing, reviewing and implementing necessary programs, policies and procedures, educating and developing training material, establishing structures and processes for risk reporting, incident management, safety and escalation of serious incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Compliance and Risk Program activities.
  • Collaborates with internal departments and external agencies.
  • Develops, reviews and implements necessary programs, policies and procedures.
  • Educates and develops training material.
  • Establishes structures and processes for risk reporting, incident management, safety and escalation of serious incidents.
  • Conducts confidential internal investigations for compliance complaints and grievances.
  • Assists in identifying potential risks through risk assessments, analysis of accidents/incidents and near miss incidents.
  • Supports appropriate departments to ensure compliance with subpoenas and timely response to release of medical records.
  • Manages liability insurance accounts.
  • Stays up-to-date with health & safety legislation and healthcare compliance regulations.
  • Works with legal counsel in situations of filed claims.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify vulnerabilities and makes recommendations to reduce, prevent or eliminate risks identified.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
