Role Summary:

The Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting, supporting the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) Warehousing & Logistics Support contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Technical Lead for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Serve as the Lead for shipping and receiving activities.
  • Review Exception Reports and manage receipt transactions for any frustrated materials.
  • Possess a solid understanding of warehouse storage strategies and operational procedures.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts with a target accuracy of 95%.
  • Verify materials against shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory documentation, identifying and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
  • Direct materials to designated storage, freight forwarding, or shipping areas.
  • Organize, stack, or palletize materials according to established storage protocols.
  • Maintain daily inventory records of received, shipped, and stored materials.
  • Inspect stored materials and report any signs of deterioration or damage.
  • Prepare materials for shipment by removing them from storage or receipt areas.
  • Process and/or attach necessary paperwork for receipts, shipments, storage, and inventory management.
  • Conduct research for misidentified, damaged, or misplaced materials as needed.
  • Operate hand or powered trucks and forklifts to perform warehouse duties.
  • Facilitate emergency deliveries when required.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
Physical Requirements:

This position involves medium work, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Physical Activities:

Driving, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking.

Medical and Background Checks:

Successful completion of a drug screening and various background checks is required.
