Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Avera McKennan Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory therapy according to established standards of care and evaluating the effectiveness of that therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory therapy to patients according to established standards of care.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory therapy and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Monitor and maintain patient records and reports.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required.
  • A graduate of an A.M.A approved school of Respiratory preferred.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Respiratory Therapist in the State of South Dakota is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 6 months of hire date.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced hospital environment with varying shifts, including every other weekend and holiday. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based setting and provide excellent patient care.

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $39.50 per hour, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
