About DC BUREAU:

The D.C. Bureau is dedicated to covering live breaking news, political events, and comprehensive investigations for Gray TV's extensive network. Our regional team collaborates closely with local stations, addressing issues that directly affect our viewers. The national team reports on both domestic and international matters that impact the nation as a whole, often accompanying the President during overseas engagements. InvestigateTV produces in-depth investigations for Gray TV, having recently influenced new legislation on Capitol Hill. Local News Live serves as a 24/7 live-streaming news platform, showcasing stories from Gray TV stations.

Job Summary/Description:

The Gray Washington News Bureau is seeking a Production Assistant to become an integral part of our team. We are in search of a dedicated production assistant to provide support to the journalists at the DC Bureau. Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal abilities, along with being self-motivated and highly organized. The compensation for this role is $18.00/hr.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting research and providing editorial assistance
  • Performing basic video editing tasks, including uploading content to cloud servers and the internet
  • Assisting with live television broadcasts
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • Flexibility in scheduling and strong computer proficiency are essential
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and software
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Capacity to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Strong time management abilities
