About the Role

The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components for SPM Oil & Gas, a Caterpillar company. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists experienced technicians during the disassemble phase of mechanical components.
  • Cleans, strips, and inspects all required flow control components to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Prepares flow control products for Gauging, Ultra Sonic, and MPI inspections to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrates the disassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Identifies SPM and customer products to ensure accurate handling and processing.
  • Assembles flow control products to ensure they meet our quality and performance standards.
  • Supports Nondestructive Testing (NDT) and Manifold tear down/rebuild activities as a trainee.
  • Demonstrates computer skills for the SPM AMP System to ensure efficient data management and processing.
  • Requires knowledge of SPM products and customer standards to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
  • Manages inventory of incoming iron and ensures proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area.
  • Monitors daily work activities to ensure requirements are met and provides feedback for improvement.

  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
