PlanIT Group is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for performing skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in the installation, service, and maintenance of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, and other various low voltage cabling systems.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Install and troubleshoot copper cabling and fiber jumpers
  • Perform basic network and desktop troubleshooting
  • Install VOIP phones
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (i.e. ServiceNow)

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • CNET CNCI certification
  • BICSI Installer (INST1) certification
  • BICSI Installer 2 copper/fiber (INSTC/INSTF) certification
  • BICSI Technician (TECH) certification
  • Manufacturer certifications

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**

  • Proven ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded and solid conductor low voltage cable, and fiber optic cable
  • Ability to communicate effectively and represent PlanIT Group in client meetings and interactions
  • Advanced knowledge of terminology pertaining to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards, including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and national electric code
  • Advanced knowledge of publications pertaining to standard cabling for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems practices, engineering, and federal, state, and local safety standards
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents
  • Ability to install cable pathways, conveyances (e.g. ladder, trays, support systems)
  • Knowledge of through-wall penetration systems
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
