Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at Mesilla Valley Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs, including defining and implementing vocational/living skills assessments and treatment goals.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement activity services for assigned programs, including music, movement, and art therapy
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to define and implement vocational/living skills assessments and treatment goals
  • Provide continuous patient care observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients
  • Assist with the development of programs and treatment plans as clinically indicated
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in activity therapy, music therapy, movement therapy, or art therapy, or a related field. Certification or licensure in recreational/art/music therapy is preferred. Three years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, is also preferred.
