Position Overview:

The Project Manager for Water/Wastewater Facilities at EHRA Engineering will engage in the advancement of technical expertise in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance, alongside project management and leadership responsibilities. This role necessitates the ability to guide a multidisciplinary design and construction team, offering specialized knowledge to both internal and external stakeholders regarding water and wastewater systems, treatment methodologies, evaluations, modeling, and design. The Project Manager is expected to uphold safety protocols and environmental consciousness while effectively communicating information, ideas, and directives clearly and persuasively in both verbal and written formats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee projects of moderate size and complexity; assess project feasibility; ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of assigned projects; identify challenges and related technical issues; devise technical strategies for problem resolution and fulfilling client requirements.
  • Develop engineering designs and create construction drawings and specifications for moderately complex engineering projects.
  • Secure plan approvals from relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Obtain necessary permits for water and wastewater facilities.
  • Act as an engineering consultant for Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs).
  • Facilitate project meetings.
  • Plan and execute tasks of greater scope and lead specific project components; collaborate with team members to author reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Engage collaboratively with team members to achieve organizational objectives; contribute ideas for enhancing organizational efficiency.
  • Maintain external relationships to identify and cultivate new service opportunities and address client needs.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and evolving market conditions that may influence service delivery and client requirements.
  • Mentor junior staff in developing technical, project management, and business development competencies.
  • Collaborate with the design team to define project scope, budget, and design direction; manage design and construction timelines and budgets.
  • Provide regular project status updates throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Assist in the formulation of company design standards by reviewing construction documents to ensure compliance with established design standards.
  • Participate in committees as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Engineering and Technology - Proficient in the application of engineering principles and technology, including the use of tools and techniques for the design and execution of company services (e.g., Civil 3D, H2O Net).
  • Critical Thinking - Ability to apply logical reasoning to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Skill in identifying intricate problems and reviewing relevant information to formulate and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Dependability - Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and accountability in fulfilling obligations.
  • Attention to Detail - Commitment to thoroughness and precision in completing work tasks.
Work Environment:
  • This position is based in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Occasional exposure to construction sites may be required, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety boots, and hearing protection.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with applicable TCEQ regulations and state guidelines; knowledge of MUD regulations and facilities is preferred.
  • Experience in the rehabilitation of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Proficiency in water modeling software, such as H2O Net.
  • Experience with industrial, municipal, or county facility projects is advantageous.
  • Experience with large wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PE license is required.
  • A valid driver's license may be necessary.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
