Role SummaryThe Billing Supervisor, under the limited oversight of the Business Operations Manager, is tasked with the management and completion of billing processes related to behavioral health, public health, primary care, residential services, and contractual agreements for Community Counseling Solutions.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervision Received: The Billing Supervisor operates under the general guidance of the Business Operations Manager, with assignments typically encompassing broad objectives alongside specific tasks.
Supervision Exercised: This role includes the supervision of Billing Specialists across various billing categories, including behavioral health, health department, residential, and contract billing.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the billing team.
- Provide direct supervision and training for billing personnel to enhance staff development.
- Collaborate with HR and the Business Operations Manager on disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and hiring recommendations.
- Offer leadership, problem-solving, mentoring, and professional support to team members.
- Ensure adequate billing coverage during staff absences.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews on billings and claims to verify accuracy and compliance with billing standards.
- Manage timely and precise data entry related to various payer sources.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate is required.
- An Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience, including medical billing and collections, basic accounting, and office management.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Certifications:
Site Specialist for OCHIN
Skills and Abilities- Strong understanding of office procedures and basic accounting practices.
- Proficient in computer databases and Electronic Medical Records relevant to healthcare.
- Self-motivated with the ability to supervise and delegate tasks effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payer requirements and guidelines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment and confidentiality protocols.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse audiences.
All candidates must pass a criminal history check as mandated by applicable regulations.
Insurance RequirementsMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain personal auto insurance for business-related travel.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires regular use of office technology and may involve lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for this position.
Work EnvironmentWork is conducted in an office setting with moderate noise levels, and occasional travel may be required for meetings or training sessions.
