Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist to join our team. The primary role involves assessing the safety of experimental compounds in animals through necropsy, histopathology, clinical pathology, electron microscopy, and other study findings. You will be responsible for generating pathology reports as part of the toxicology report, interpreting data, and providing expert opinions to project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an early safety representative on drug discovery teams.
  • Predicts possible toxicities, develops safety screens, and mitigation strategies to avoid potential toxicities.
  • Executes scientific strategy in alignment with cross-functional, cross-disciplinary goals.
  • Establishes scientific standards for excellence by collaborating with functional leaders and experts.
  • Proactively advises and shares knowledge with senior management.
  • Delivers results that meet or exceed expectations of major project plans.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent plus postgraduate training in veterinary pathology.
  • Board Certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (ACVP) is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. in pathology or related discipline are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry of 5-7 years.
  • Familiarity with related fields: pharmacology, toxicology, and drug development.
