Job Title: School Aged Child Care Assistant

Helena School District is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a School Aged Child Care Assistant. As a key member of our SACC team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

Job Summary:

The School Aged Child Care Assistant will assist the SACC Site Manager in the overall operations of the daily program activities. This includes providing supervision of children's activities, maintaining standards of appropriate behavior and health habits, and interacting positively with parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities as assigned by the site manager.
  • Circulate among children, redirecting individuals into positive play and pointing out alternative activities.
  • Assist children in maintaining standards of appropriate behavior and health habits established for the program.
  • Cooperate with other program staff to create and maintain a harmonious and efficient environment.
  • Interact positively with parents and refer appropriate questions and concerns to the site manager.
  • Perform clerical and housekeeping duties as assigned, including snack preparation and clean up, project preparation and clean up.
  • Oversee the appropriate use and storage of equipment and materials.
  • Provide support in planned activities such as field trips and visiting resource persons.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly program environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a licensed or registered group or family day care provider or day care center staff preferred.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary range of $14.80 to $18.33 per hour, depending on education level and applicable relevant work experience. The position also includes a generous pro-rated benefit package, including paid sick and vacation leave, 3 personal days, up to 13 school calendar-related paid days, health benefits, and retirement.
