Job Overview

Sonatech, a leading provider of advanced SONAR solutions for the US Navy, is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Helper to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of work in our shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other machine crew members to optimize setup and operation of orders
  • Deburr machined metal products to meet quality standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools, equipment, and machines
  • Conduct daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Handle various objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Adhere to company operating procedures, safety protocols, and best practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods (8 hours)
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • US Citizenship or permanent residency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools
