POSITION OVERVIEW: The Quality Assurance Intern plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of products through thorough inspections and evaluations. This position is responsible for conducting pre-operational assessments of equipment and facilities, performing swabbing and sponging tests, auditing standard operating procedures, and executing daily quality checks. The intern will analyze data to support the production of safe and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect samples and conduct thorough analyses.
  • Accurately interpret and document results.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with established processes.
  • Prepare and maintain essential solutions for testing.
  • Monitor equipment during the production process.
  • Lead initiatives related to shelf life testing.
  • Verify that products meet specified quality standards.
  • Provide comprehensive insights regarding product quality.
  • Conduct tests on both raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate quality assurance records.
  • Verify and issue Certificates of Analysis (COA).
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and quality assurance.
  • Engage in quality assurance projects and initiatives.
  • Observe adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and provide recommendations for improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and SQF principles.
  • Excellent communication and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be capable of standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull weights as necessary.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
