We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a key member of our eye clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient flow and navigation through the clinic, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
- Perform comprehensive intake examinations and ancillary testing, including visual acuity, potential acuity, and ocular imaging.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including preparing patient, room, supplies, and equipment.
- Inventory, cleaning, care, and maintenance of ophthalmic supplies, equipment, and exam/procedure rooms.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for technical and clinical activities.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medication, refractive needs, and home health eye care.
- Assist fellow staff and physicians with daily tasks.
- Accept training for advanced skills and maintain current certification status.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in an Ophthalmology practice required.
- Current International Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (iJCAHPO) certification as Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days.
