Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Café Specialist to join our team at Books-A-Million. As a key member of our café team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating café equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate café equipment, including coffee machines, blenders, and ovens, to prepare a variety of beverages and food items.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers and responding to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized café environment, adhering to local, state, and federal sanitation guidelines.
- Stock and merchandise café supplies, maintaining a visually appealing and well-organized display.
- Assist with cash handling and balancing, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the bookstore team to provide a seamless customer experience.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn and operate multiple café machines.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and cash handling experience.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, or reach while performing daily activities.
- Ability to lift/push objects up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 25 lbs. on a periodic basis with or without assistance.
