Clinical Nurse I- B3: General Surgery/Trauma Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse I to join our General Surgery/Trauma team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
B3 is a large in-patient post-surgical unit that is comprised of 36-private patient rooms. We care for patients from the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Step-down Unit, Emergency Department, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Our service population includes: Trauma, Orthopedics, ENT, Thoracic, Plastics, and Bariatric patients.
