Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomy Registration Specialist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate registration and ordering of patients presenting to our collections site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Obtain all patient information in a private and confidential manner, utilizing effective communication skills.
  • Perform LIS orders and HQ registrations per policy and procedure, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Place patient orders accurately, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Identify each patient accurately by verifying date of birth, spelling of last and first name, and utilizing positive patient identification.
  • Collect specimens utilizing professional and accepted practices, labeling all specimens accurately.
  • Transport specimens in a timely manner, processing and preparing them for transport as needed.
  • Review computer reports, resolve any problems, and make appropriate corrections.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and handle all calls with courtesy and efficiency, providing accurate information and results.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy and basic computer skills required; registration experience helpful.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to pass a typing test.
