Medical Authorization Specialist

Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates is a leading healthcare provider seeking a skilled Precertification Specialist to join our team. Our mission is to deliver exceptional patient care and improve the lives of those with cancer and blood disorders.
The primary responsibility of this role is to obtain prior authorizations for oncology and hematology services ordered by our healthcare providers. This involves working closely with our medical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient authorization processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain prior authorizations for oncology and hematology services
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely authorization
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology to facilitate authorization processes
- Prioritize competing demands and maintain attention to detail
- Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure seamless collaboration with healthcare providers
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare business office setting with working knowledge of the prior authorization process
- Detailed understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology
- Familiarity with oncology and/or NextGen is highly desirable
