Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sheetmetal Technician to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sheetmetal Fabrication and Installation: Use complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft.
  2. Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior sheetmetal technicians, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  3. Project Oversight: Oversee projects or other technicians, assessing requirements and procuring necessary materials and documentation.
  4. Tool Operation: Safely operate shop equipment, such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheetmetal functions.
  5. Safety and Quality: Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as YIAW and Kaizen events, to improve safety, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Requirements
  1. Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
  2. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift.
  5. Computer Skills: Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office suite.
