We are more than just magazines. We engage our audience across all mediums and channels—digital, video, social, and print—with sophisticated content creation, distribution, and data capabilities. We create, package, and sell products with cutting-edge technology and proprietary platforms. Together, we are reinventing publishing for the 21st century.

Your Impact

The Hearst Magazines Enthusiast & Wellness Group is seeking a versatile, data-driven Digital Content Producer to join our reviews team and contribute to growing our product review content on Popular Mechanics. This role works closely with editors in all departments, from our in-house testing team to our SEO department, and will support content that covers a wide range of subjects.

  3. Ensure content is following our search and commerce best practices.
  4. Support search and commerce goals with a flexible mindset and the ability to change course quickly.
  5. Build freelance memos that consist of editorial notes, product performance information, and more.
  6. Use Google Analytics and our data management platform to optimize for affiliate revenue.
  7. Edit photos using Photoshop for proper sizing and formatting.
  8. Liaise with photo, digital design, and our test team to elevate reviews content for search and user intent.
  9. Help implement and add new product features to content.

Who You Are/Skills You Possess:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience working at a digital-first outlet.
  2. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and easily pivot with changing business needs.
  3. Experience working regularly within a CMS.
  4. Proficiency with Photoshop or other image editing software.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to collaborate and foster positive relationships with colleagues.
  7. Passion for building editorial brands.
  8. Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics preferred).
  9. Available to work major shopping holidays.

Note: The qualifications listed above are intended to provide a general guideline for evaluating candidates and may be adjusted based on specific organizational needs and requirements.

The base salary for this role in NY is between $70,000 to $73,600 annually. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
