Job Summary:

Minitab is seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead their Software Engineering Management team at their State College, PA office headquarters. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in managing technical teams.

The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for facilitating the continued development of engineers, driving a culture of learning, and ensuring effective communication within and across project teams. They will also identify and remove barriers to efficient product development, evaluate and implement development best practices, and provide key input into planning activities related to the direction of Software Engineering.

This is a team that takes pride in maintainable and quality code bases, and are constantly looking for the best ways to develop applications and features that give customers the best user experience. The Software Engineering Manager will be a key leader in this effort, working closely with the team to drive technical excellence and innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of technical experience designing and developing technical solutions. They will also have a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience, and experience with Agile/Scrum Methodologies. Proven experience managing technical compliance issues, including security and accessibility, is also desired.

The Software Engineering Manager will have a strong technical background, with expertise in several platforms and technologies, including object-oriented design/programming, Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems, and programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, and PHP. They will also have experience with web development technologies, cloud platform technologies, and test-driven development.

The Software Engineering Manager will be a key leader in the Software Engineering Management team, working closely with the team to drive technical excellence and innovation. They will be responsible for developing talent, instilling trust, and making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.

Requirements:
