Our CVOR Team specializes in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgeries, collaborating closely with the main Operating Room team to ensure optimal staffing levels. Prior experience in the Operating Room with a focus on Cardiac procedures is essential. This role operates Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with shared on-call responsibilities during off hours and weekends.
Our facility features a 17-suite operating room that accommodates a diverse range of specialties, including Robotics, Kidney Transplants, and Trauma cases. We are committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients, from infants to the elderly, and provide the opportunity to work alongside renowned surgeons and anesthesiologists from across the nation. We are pleased to offer SIGN-ON BONUSES for both full-time and part-time Surgical Technician positions, with the bonus amount determined by your years of experience in Surgical Technology.
The Surgical Technician will:
- Assist the surgical team by performing various tasks in the operating room.
- Prepare sterile setups for surgical procedures, pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and assistants, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the operating room.
- During surgeries, manage special trays, graft materials, and document patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all medications are correctly labeled and provided to the surgeon following established protocols.
- Prepare the operating room by arranging surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions before operations.
- Efficiently pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgery, assist with retractors, and help maintain a sterile environment.
- Aid in the preparation and care of specimens for laboratory analysis and assist with dressing applications.
- Support the surgical team in donning sterile gowns and gloves.
- After procedures, assist in transferring patients to recovery and ensure the operating room is cleaned and restocked.
- Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring aseptic incision sites and assisting with positioning on the operating table.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
Qualifications:
- CPR certification is required based on AHA standards, including both theoretical and practical components.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) is expected within six months of program completion.
- Compliance with continuing education requirements as specified by the credentialing organization for certification.
- Experience in various surgical specialties is preferred.
