Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lab Operations Manager to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of new lab capabilities, as well as the planning, operations, and maintenance of the Sentinel Command and Launch Systems Integration Lab (CSIL).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lab Operations Management: Manage and oversee lab operations teams, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of lab activities.
  • Lab Design and Development: Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into lab architecture solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Integration and Testing: Coordinate integration and testing activities, working in a dynamic people-focused environment.
  • Lab Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop and manage lab schedules and lab operations budgets, ensuring compliance with lab process requirements.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with support homerooms and provide timely resource forecasts to ensure proper staffing is in place to execute the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Capital Projects: Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of lab capital projects, providing inputs to yearly capital plans and long-range strategic planning.
  • Technical and Process Rigor: Drive lab technical and process rigor, ensuring compliance to meet program, division, and company requirements.
  • Lab Network Administration: Maintain accurate and comprehensive lab and lab network configurations.
  • Technical Metrics: Track leading indicator technical metrics to detect and prevent issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure lab requirements are aligned with product/test team needs.
  • Lab Asset Management: Ensure lab assets and tools are available to meet test requirements for formal testing.
  • Lab Access and Cybersecurity: Ensure and oversee lab access and cybersecurity compliance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 6 years of relevant experience, or 4 years with a Master's degree.
  • Clearance: US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher, awarded within the past 6 years, with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher.
  • Leadership Experience: At least one year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Lab Experience: Experience integrating hardware and software components in a lab/ground test environment.
  • Lab Electrical/Network Designs: Familiarity with lab electrical/network designs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • US Citizenship with Active Top-Secret Clearance: US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher, awarded within the past 6 years, with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
  • Prior Management Experience: Prior management experience.
  • Systems Engineering Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering, test, and lab operations principles and processes.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: Possess DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher.
  • Agile Environment Experience: Experience executing in an Agile environment.
  • Model-Based System Engineering: Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering with an understanding of DODAF and SysML.
  • Test Automation: Experience in Test automation (development and execution).
  • Instrumentation and Data Acquisition: Demonstrated knowledge and use of instrumentation and data acquisition type systems.
