Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge experimentation and measurement solutions to drive high-impact marketing decisions.

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and technology, to identify high-impact opportunities for experimentation and measurement. You will develop and maintain advanced machine learning and data mining models to analyze and interpret large datasets from online and offline user activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data pipelines and infrastructure to support experimentation and measurement activities.
  • Collaborate with applications engineers to design and implement scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Communicate insights and results to stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, data science, and marketing technology to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing measurement and attribution, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling and analysis, including regression, A/B testing, and experimentation.
  • Strong hands-on skills in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of data using distributed computing platform (Python, R, SQL, Spark, Hive etc.).
  • Experienced with traditional as well as modern machine learning/statistical techniques, including A/B testing, Causal Inference, Regression, Classification, Ensemble Methods, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.
  • Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  • Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
