Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is integral to the creation of bicycle components, including rims, frames, and molded parts, through the application of composite materials utilizing pre-preg fabric kits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Prepare and bond composite materials according to engineering guidelines and established operating procedures (SOPs). The success of the department relies on each member's ability to work swiftly and effectively.

2) Accurately fit components into molds using both hand tools and various bladder types.

3) Support the assembly of engineering prototypes and execute rework tasks as necessary.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

4) Demonstrate a willingness to cross-train within the department and acquire knowledge in other areas to meet the Company's evolving needs.

5) Uphold a safe and organized workspace.

6) Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

7) Follow all relevant procedures associated with this role.

8) Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

SUPERVISORY ROLE/WORK SCHEDULE

This position does not involve supervisory duties. It is a full-time role, typically scheduled Monday through Thursday for 10 hours each day, with potential for extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays, or alternate shifts as required. Regular onsite attendance is essential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(P) High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

(P) Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

(P) Training in composites within a manufacturing context.

(P) Proficiency in using a computer or tablet.

(P) Familiarity with manufacturing software (e.g., Quantum) for data entry and record updates.

(P) Experience with a variety of hand tools.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Basic mathematical skills with the ability to perform precise measurements and area calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Knowledgeable in raw materials, production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to maintain production pace.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on achieving goals and meeting deadlines efficiently.
  • Capability to read and understand various SOPs and engineering design documents.
  • Effective communication skills.

CERTIFICATIONS

(P) Composite technician certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a noisy environment with fluctuating temperatures while maintaining focus on detail.
  • Requires prolonged standing and physical activities such as lifting, bending, and stretching.
  • May involve handling chemicals (e.g., Chemlease, Acetone, IPA).
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Safety footwear is mandatory in this role.
  • Ability to see objects clearly at close range.
