We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex CT procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CT procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and CT protocols.
- Properly identify and explain procedures to patients.
- Start IV access according to standard procedure and inject contrast media under the direction of a physician.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures by using established CT protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
- Instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties as needed.
- Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
- Participate in on-going service and process improvement efforts.
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.
- ARRT (CT) certification required within one year of hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
This position requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
