Overview:

William C Brown Inc is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to enhance our team dedicated to supporting intelligence initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

The Lead Software Engineer will actively engage in Agile development teams and ceremonies. This role involves crafting and deploying tailored solutions within the enterprise framework.

Key Duties Include:
  • Conducting research, design, development, testing, and modification of enterprise-wide systems and applications.
  • Assessing user and business software system requirements to identify needs.
  • Evaluating application functionality and implementing upgrades as necessary.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation to uphold software development policies and standards.
  • Enhancing system monitoring while adhering to established security protocols across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborating with the Scrum Master to provide accurate delivery estimates and manage transitions from analysis to design and delivery.
  • Delivering progress updates to the Scrum Master and team to address any delivery risks or concerns.
  • Participating in sprint planning, defining user stories, and estimating efforts.
  • Working on diverse projects that involve the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions, and processes.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining application code across various networks.
  • Contributing throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Writing well-structured, testable, and efficient code.
  • Ensuring compliance of designs with specifications.
  • Recommending enhancements to improve established application processes.
  • Preparing and producing software component releases.
  • Creating automated unit test cases and assessing code quality using automated tools.
  • Developing automated integration test cases and resolving issues.
  • Providing technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure inquiries.
  • Aligning with the customer’s strategic objectives.
  • Utilizing the customer’s enterprise DevSecOps pipeline.

Position Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related business field.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language with a desire to gain experience in others (e.g., Python, React, Java).
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps and software/application development methodologies.
  • Experience in building and managing container images (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proven ability to creatively address technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within a small team.
  • Experience deploying to on-premises or data center infrastructure.
  • Daily use of Jira and Confluence.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required with eligibility for CI poly.
