The Retail Loan Specialist plays a crucial role in the prompt and efficient evaluation of indirect retail loan and lease applications, ensuring exceptional customer service while adhering to the organization's policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor application queues to prioritize processing based on urgency.
- Ensure timely attention to applications, focusing on priority cases first.
- Access application details to gather necessary information for credit evaluations.
- Make informed approval or decline decisions in line with Retail Loan Policy.
- Refer exceptional cases to designated Exception Lenders for final judgment.
- Review all internal communications and reports to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Facilitate smooth interactions between the Retail Lending department and Operations staff, particularly for applications needing re-approval during funding.
- Gather feedback on productivity barriers and propose process improvements to management.
- Document findings and suggest policy changes that could enhance business efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
- Adhere to Information Security and Privacy Policy requirements.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all indirect retail lending products and a solid understanding of other retail offerings.
- Proven ability to make sound credit assessments.
- In-depth familiarity with credit policies outlined in relevant policy bulletins.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of mediating between diverse groups with varying priorities.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound judgment in prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Proficient understanding of the bank's adjudication systems.
