Overview:
The Business Systems Architect serves as the key functional authority for a specific application.

As a subject matter expert, the Business Systems Architect is tasked with tailoring the application to align with organizational needs.

This role also involves imparting knowledge of the enterprise, business systems, and industry practices to the teams engaged with or connected to the application.

The primary duty of a Business Systems Architect is to deliver insights into the business processes that the application supports, prepare and evaluate designs, suggest enhancements, and offer guidance throughout the testing phase.

The Business Systems Architect aids developers in grasping the business functional requirements and either formulates the functional designs to satisfy these requirements or reviews and endorses the designs crafted by the developers.

The Business Systems Architect must possess a comprehensive understanding of their specific application(s) and the underlying business processes. A seasoned Business Systems Architect is involved in planning, analyzing, and defining overarching software strategies and solutions. They assist in outlining technical requirements and long-term strategies to fulfill customer needs.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education
OnBase Certification is preferred

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, ascertain, and document functional requirements.
- Define how applications will fulfill business needs.
- Conduct impact assessments of business requirements on the system.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to define software and hardware specifications.
- Collect and interpret user requirements into design specifications.
- Direct the application design process.
- Lead application development and configuration to meet business needs.
- Design, develop, code, unit test, and debug the OnBase application.
- Contribute to test planning.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Provide accurate and meaningful status updates.
- Adhere to quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Act as the functional expert for the application(s), providing insights into the business processes supported by the application.
- Offer detailed definitions on how applications will support business requirements.
- Work with the team to strategize and implement technical solutions.
- Provide expertise in defining functional architecture and infrastructure for applications.
- Plan and develop user interface strategies.
- Interpret and comprehend user requirements and design specifications.
- Provide expertise in defining architecture and infrastructure for applications.
- Review and understand the team’s work plan.
- Identify and monitor issues, risks, and action items affecting personal and team responsibilities.
- Anticipate and resolve team-specific issues.
- Estimate timeframes and schedules for personal tasks and address issues promptly.
