Academic Hospitalist in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Position Overview:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a board eligible or certified physician to fill a full- or part-time role as an Academic Hospitalist within the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Compensation and academic rank will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Clinical Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Hospitalist will be to provide comprehensive clinical care to both high-risk and low-risk patients at the Froedtert & MCW Birth Center. Additional clinical responsibilities may include urgent gynecological care and surgical procedures. The facility operates as a statewide referral center, delivering exceptional care to patients with a diverse range of medical complexities. It is recognized as one of the few Level 4 Obstetrical Units in the state, directly linked to the Level 4 NICU at Children's Wisconsin.
Work Schedule:
Hospitalists will be expected to work shifts ranging from 12 to 14 hours, totaling approximately 15 shifts per month, which will include a mix of weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Teaching Opportunities:
As the teaching hospital for the Medical College of Wisconsin, this position offers the chance to educate and collaborate with residents, fellows, and medical students who will be actively involved in patient care.
Division Overview:
The Generalist Division comprises 16 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers, delivering care across 12 varied clinical environments associated with three major medical centers: Froedtert Hospital, Children's Wisconsin, and Zablocki VA Medical Center. Many members of the division hold leadership roles within the Medical College and Froedtert Hospital.
