Key Responsibilities:
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on expectant mothers, operating diagnostic imaging equipment, and preparing examination rooms and necessary supplies. This role involves assisting with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, conducting Doppler studies, biophysical profiles, and detailed Level 2 ultrasounds, along with anatomy assessments. Additional responsibilities include:
- Following established protocols for general and specialized ultrasound examinations.
- Training new staff on scanning techniques.
- Monitoring patients and equipment during procedures, documenting any irregularities, and recording patient conditions.
- Preparing examination rooms and maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Inputting examination data into a computerized database and managing patient records.
- Conducting portable ultrasound exams as needed.
- Collaborating with perinatologists to discuss findings that aid in diagnosis.
- Ensuring cleanliness and disinfection of ultrasound rooms and equipment.
- Adhering to scheduling and quality standards.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with ultrasound machinery and possess foundational knowledge of patient care equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience is preferred. Familiarity with McKesson PACS and Epic EMR systems is advantageous.

Educational Background:
- Completion of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), U.S. Department of Education (USDOE), or Canadian Medical Association (CMA) specializing in diagnostic medical ultrasound/sonography is preferred.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography is preferred. Significant training and current clinical experience with ARDMS registry will be accepted.

Certifications and Licenses:
- ARDMS registration in OB/GYN (OB) and Fetal Echo (FE) is required.
- Certification in Nuchal Translucency (NT) and Cervical Length (CLEAR) is necessary.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or an equivalent is mandatory.
