Nurse Practitioner

The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care to patients at Barnes-Jewish Hospital emergency department, as well as at our community sites, including Barnes West County and Missouri Baptist Emergency Departments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and developing and implementing patient-centered plans of care.
- Manage health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records, and maintain all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
- Work in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Preferred qualifications include minor procedural skills, Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine, and 3 or more years of practicing in an emergency department setting.
