Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse Triage will play a crucial role in managing patient care by handling incoming calls, making appointments, and assisting with treatment plans. This position requires collaboration with physicians and knowledge of medical office procedures to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Responsibilities- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
- Report directly to the nursing coordinator.
- Handle all incoming sick patient phone calls for assigned providers.
- Make appointments for office visits, referrals, imaging studies, and lab tests.
- Prioritize authorization for medications, imaging studies, and labs.
- Notify patients of results via the patient portal, email, or phone call.
- Respond to patient portal messages.
- Log all procedures and act on orders, ensuring pathology reports are received.
- Manage prescription refills, reviewing charts and scheduling appointments if necessary.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A High School diploma or GED.
- A degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of NY.
- BCLS/ACLS certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting.
