Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher to join our team at Mount Washington Preschool and Child Care Center, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of children aged 0-5 years.
- Assume responsibility for the classroom, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
- Provide responsive caregiving, including feeding, changing, and soothing children as needed.
- Support the Supervisor in maintaining a high-quality program that adheres to state licensing codes and NAEYC standards.
- Document children's developmental growth through regular assessments, observations, and reports.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to child development.
- Model positive behavior, attitude, and language for children and colleagues.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
Requirements:
- Working towards an AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Development, Human Development, or a related field.
- 24 units in child development and 3 Infant/Toddler units.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and immunizations.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet software.
- Strong knowledge of child development theory and experience with current developmentally appropriate play-based child early childhood practices.
- 1-year experience working with children or 6 months working in an infant room.

Work Environment:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
