Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified substitute teacher to join our team at the ECU Community School. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for facilitating the instructional plans of the classroom teacher and implementing innovative strategies to promote student academic and personal success.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the instructional plans of the classroom teacher and school to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total community school program.
- Implement the planned innovative strategies and integration of a variety of support services for students.
- Implement behavioral and social-emotional strategies to foster a positive climate for learning.
- Receive visitors within the assigned classroom for the purpose of instruction, assistance, research, and observation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education (K-6).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Evidence of skill in working with at-risk student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a current or past professional North Carolina teaching license in elementary education (K-6).
- Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience with diverse student groups.
